Howdy,
In recent weeks, I have been building up the arsenel. No fandangled off-the wall drillings, getting smart with knowing what works and what doesnt.
On the friendly advice of my cohort, Alan Cook, he suggested I get some Storm equipment in my bags. After much delay and deliberation, I took a giant leap out of my comfort zone of rolling one brand. Not one to knock, I still have a majority of those rocks and they work well...but are more situational than anything else.
Drilled up the following:
Shift / Special Agent / Spit Fire / Tropical Storm
I knocked off the shine on the pearls, down to the Green Scuff on the Shift & Spit Fire, Gray Scuff on Special Agent and Tropical Storm.
While on that kick, I knocked all my particles (Columbia Action Max - Green Scuff & Apogee - Gray, 2 each).
Great thing to note...if your pro shop has a Haus Resurfacing Machine, take full advantage of ball cleaning and surface management. It has made a difference in my game from the start of the season and haven't looked back. Quarter of the way through the season, shooting in three scratch leagues, averaging in the mid-220's, all in different houses.
A couple of weeks ago, nailed a 300 for the third time this calendar year, seventh for career. A number of 279 games, but have been really consistant in keeping my shells clean and making the proper adjustments. The majority of players play outside of 8 board, where I like to play inside third arrow and scoot the ball to the transition to the break point, then matching up depending on the volume of oil. Big shock last week...with the change in temperature and less humidity, it seems like the oil patterns are more slicker than normal. Move outside and feel it to the dirt, make sure you got surface. If your rocks are polished, it won't read for squat!!!
In the meanwhile, the holidays is around the corner, get something special for someone special and a lil' somethin' somethin' for yourself!
Until next time, keep striking!
