Howdy,
In recent weeks, I have been building up the arsenel. No fandangled off-the wall drillings, getting smart with knowing what works and what doesnt.
On the friendly advice of my cohort, Alan Cook, he suggested I get some Storm equipment in my bags. After much delay and deliberation, I took a giant leap out of my comfort zone of rolling one brand. Not one to knock, I still have a majority of those rocks and they work well...but are more situational than anything else.
Drilled up the following:
Shift / Special Agent / Spit Fire / Tropical Storm
I knocked off the shine on the pearls, down to the Green Scuff on the Shift & Spit Fire, Gray Scuff on Special Agent and Tropical Storm.
While on that kick, I knocked all my particles (Columbia Action Max - Green Scuff & Apogee - Gray, 2 each).
Great thing to note...if your pro shop has a Haus Resurfacing Machine, take full advantage of ball cleaning and surface management. It has made a difference in my game from the start of the season and haven't looked back. Quarter of the way through the season, shooting in three scratch leagues, averaging in the mid-220's, all in different houses.
A couple of weeks ago, nailed a 300 for the third time this calendar year, seventh for career. A number of 279 games, but have been really consistant in keeping my shells clean and making the proper adjustments. The majority of players play outside of 8 board, where I like to play inside third arrow and scoot the ball to the transition to the break point, then matching up depending on the volume of oil. Big shock last week...with the change in temperature and less humidity, it seems like the oil patterns are more slicker than normal. Move outside and feel it to the dirt, make sure you got surface. If your rocks are polished, it won't read for squat!!!
In the meanwhile, the holidays is around the corner, get something special for someone special and a lil' somethin' somethin' for yourself!
Hope your leagues and personal games are going well. Big things are a comin' on this end!!!
Over the past few weeks and months I have had several changes about things in the professional and personal life. Some great, some no so much, and some just down right awful.
Alright, here it goes...
In a span of three months, I lost my love and best friend, moved from the country to the city and not three days in the new place, somebody stole 5 of my top bowling balls, bags, shoes, tools, and didn't even have the decency to steal my car stereo - a pull-out face even!!! Didn't have the new balls but a month. I got laid off my job, but looking at getting a new and better gig coming soon. Tight around the edges, but not starving yet!!!
Well, I basically started up with a new set in the arsenel, and opened up throwing a variety of companies with quality layouts and covers. As fate would have it, things started to fall into place. Out of the gate, I am shooting in the mid 220's, executing shots, and making quality decisions. So far so good - keeping it all in perspective is critical of what's to come.
Recently acquired a Storm Special Agent and a Storm Shift in the past two weeks...freakin' sweet!!! Special shoutout to my man Cookie for hooking me up.
My buddy, The Rock, set me up with a Hammer Toxic, controlled drilling for late in tourney blocks and late in 5 game scratch leagues for breakdown...Hell Yeah...Happy clam!!! Thanks, man!!!
In the past 6 weeks, I've come out with both barrels loaded and bangin' the rack!!! What a few adjustments can do for change to present itself...OMG, I like what is happening!
10/16/07 - Shoot 300 and 1,188 for 5 games - Third Perfecto of the calendar year - 7 for career.
Have 2 - 279 games in the fold early and liking the new tools, along with old faithfuls. The arsenal is really shaping up, filling the fine holes in the rocks and ready to compete. No doubt the best stroke in my life on the lanes in 22 years.
Gotta give props to my bro Postie for kicking my azz and getting my head screwed on straight.
Now it's all a matter of taking care of business, on the lanes, and in life.
So what are you waiting for, get out there and be somebody today...everyday!!!
Howzit? It's been a while since I've posted, so I guess it's time to get on the stick.
Been a whirlwind for the past three months on the lanes. As fate would have it, in 21 years on the lanes I have never forgotten my equipment on league night, until one day I pulled a Carlos Mencia (DE DE DE). I decided to act accordingly and holla at my buddy Posty and he hooked me up. Normally I am a Columbia 300 guy, but decided to go against the grain and picked up a new ball.
Drilled up an AMF Radar Lock - 3" Pin - Layout...Pin Under - 5.5" x 3" CG to CG - Balance hole at midline / vertical axis intersection. 25 degrees Pin to Mass Bias.
Been whacking the pocket ever since. No series less than 640 for three months, 9 series over 720...went perfect twice...02/05/07 and 04/09/07...at Bowlaway Lanes, Walla Walla. Shot my best 5 game set @ Go Bowl in Pasco...1255!!!
Looking to get out on the NW Regional Tour in June...got a much better mindset this season than in the past 4 years. Clarity is a beautiful thing. My the stories I can tell, the testimony I can profess. It's been a very revelating year 2006-07 has been. Sure look forward to sharing it with others. Simply put, no matter the challenges we face, we can all find solice and understanding who we are if we just believe in ourselves and share with others.

Howdy,
Welcome to my blog. I love the game, the business, and the industry. I especially enjoy talking about pro shop related things. Drillings, layouts, reactions, technology, etc...
